Het is nu of nooit voor de 310 apen die momenteel gevangen zitten in een Nepalese fokboerderij. De minister van Bosbouw staat op het punt een besluit te nemen over wetgeving inzake de fok van apen en die zal beslissen over het lot van de Nepalese apen! De campagne heeft voor genoeg druk gezorgd om de wet te laten herzien, maar we moeten er nu nog voor zorgen dat het fokken van apen wordt verboden als de nieuwe wet inzake de fok van apen wordt aangekondigd. De contacten hieronder hebben allemaal invloed in het Nepalese ministerie van Bosbouw, dus alsjeblieft, zendt de voorbeeldbrief of gebruik je eigen woorden in een brief om de geadresseerden te overtuigen hun invloed uit te oefenen om apenfokkerijen te verbieden in Nepal! Stuur de voorbeeldbrief naar onderstaande emailadressen.

Dear NTB Board Member,

I am writing to ask you to help stop the terrible monkey farming which is happening in Nepal. A farm is currently active in Lele with over 300 monkeys and it has recently been disclosed that at least 30 monkeys have already died there. As I'm sure you're aware, a large portion of Nepal's tourism originates from the USA and Europe and focuses on "eco-tourism" with a strong "spiritual" element. However, whilst European nations are considering ending the use of monkeys for scientific research due to "ethical concerns", Nepal 's planned participation in the monkey business means it can no longer be considered an "ethical" tourist destination. On the 20th of November, 2008, a petition was launched on the internet asking people to sign a pledge to boycott Nepal because of the monkey farming and, (in just 40 days), over 2 ,800 people from around the world have signed.
